About our Church...
Calvary Baptist Church, located just one mile east of the Columbia Mall on Worley
Street, is planted where a peach orchard once existed. And much like an orchard, we
are a group of people from all walks of life who gather together as we grow in Christian
service and love.
We have a variety of programs for all members of the family, including Children, Youth,
and Senior Adults. In fact, our Senior Adults are some of the most active people you'll
ever meet!
We share a rich history with the Southern Baptist Denomination, and we also cultivate
open friendships with Christians of other churches and traditions. It is our desire to
show Columbia (and the world at large) the love of Jesus which so deeply impacts our
lives.
When you enter our sanctuary, you will notice that it's recently been remodeled. But
its beauty doesn't compare to the warmth and love of the people around you. One of
the first things people notice when visiting Calvary is the love and acceptance they
feel from the moment they walk in the door.
If you're looking for a church to call home, Calvary provides a warm atmosphere that
will encourage you in your Christian walk, and challenge you to become all that God
has created you to be. We have many opportunities for you to 'plug in' and get
